Entrepreneur’s Day

On 30 August, on Entrepreneur’s Day and at the initiative of the Chernihiv CCI, Dmytro Natalukha, People’s Deputy and Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Economic Development, came to meet with entrepreneurs in Chernihiv region. The officials of the Chernihiv Regional State Administration, Chernihiv Regional Council and the State Tax Service in the Chernihiv region honoured entrepreneurs who have shown resilience and demonstrated development in the face of war. Rostyslav Korobka, Vice President of the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, congratulated the Chernihiv business community with the Entrepreneur’s Day.

The event began with a commemoration of defenders who gave their lives for Ukraine. More than 70 entrepreneurs from the Chernihiv region died in battles with the Russian aggressor since February 24, 2022.Chernihiv region was under enemy occupation, and Chernihiv itself was surrounded and heavily shelled in February-March 2022. More than 500 enterprises were destroyed or significantly damaged. Hryhoriy Tkachenko, the owner of one of these enterprises—Naporivske farm, village Lukashivka—shared the story of his lifework destruction by the enemy, restoration, and new development. We are proud of the enterprises that showed courage to stay in their native region and restart their activities!

During the communication with the business, business conditions in the war realities were discussed, in particular, the need for a tax increase and how this affects businesses’ ability to continue supporting the army.
An important outcome of the meeting was the fundraising for the Darts drone for the Second International Legion.
